The manufacturing of high quality products to tight dimensional tolerances, with the right fibre orientations and content, places special demands upon the manufacturing process. Hence methods have been developed in which fibres of the required quantity and orientation are placed within a shaped mould, which is then closed and infused with resin. This is a good method with respect to the working environment as it avoids direct operator contact with the moulding resin. Infusion can be performed either through pressure or with the help of a vacuum, as well as combinations of the two methods.
